Born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and raised in the U.S. heartland of Missouri, Nina Todea joined the world of cooperatives in 2022. As an associate editor, Nina works with cooperatives in Idaho, New Mexico, California and Nevada. Before joining Pioneer, Nina worked at the Jefferson City News Tribune, writing features about arts, culture and education, and was also on the evening design desk. In addition, she wrote for Her Magazine, the newspaper’s sister publication. While earning her bachelor's degree in journalism from Missouri State University in 2019, Nina interned for the region’s NPR-affiliate radio station, KSMU Ozarks Public Radio.
Nina currently resides in Chicago, where she enjoys finding new hole-in-the-wall eateries and learning about the rich culture of the city’s communities. But like any true introvert, when her social battery runs low, you can find her taking a peaceful stroll in the park, trying a new recipe or binge-watching her current favorite show.
