Gil Hough was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised on the waters of Lake St. Clair, spending most of his youth reading and boating. After graduating from Grand Valley State University, where he mostly studied his love of the sport of rowing, he set his sights starboard for a career in solar energy.
A founding member and executive director of the Tennessee Solar Energy Industries Association, Gil advocates for the development of solar energy and complementary technologies, including storage, positioning the Tennessee Valley’s residents and businesses as leaders in clean energy deployment and economic development. He also serves on the national Solar Energy Industries Association Board of Directors as state affiliates co-representative
