Pioneer Utility Resources believes that an inclusive workplace — one where every employee has a voice and brings their own unique perspective — enhances everything we do.

In that spirit, Pioneer offers a paid communications internship program to expand professional opportunities and champion diversity within the community-owned utility sector.

This is year two of Pioneer’s internship program.

After a successful first run, we made adjustments based on staff and participant suggestions,” says Editorial Director Mike Teegarden. One of the biggest changes is expanding our pool of applicants.

Pioneer staff are sharing the opportunity with utility members and customers of the communications co-op across the nation. The internships are being promoted at many more colleges this year, too, including historically Black colleges and universities.

We also are expanding our intern education component to include speakers outside Pioneer, specifically focusing on people of color in positions of power, “ adds Social Media Content & Accounts Manager Sydney Turner. We hope you are as excited about year two as we are!

If you know of any eligible students, please encourage them to apply.
