When you think of your first co-op experience, what comes to mind? Whether it’s a hardware store, preschool, credit union or telco, co-ops of all sizes and types share a common purpose.
We were formed to meet community needs and make life better for members.
Pioneer, as a communications co-op, was built to share the story of Utility Pioneers (that’s you!). To celebrate National Cooperative Month this October and tell the story of our shared purpose, we’ve added a free, customizable campaign on Pioneer Studio.
The purpose-driven social media graphics, flyer, poster, rack card, bill insert, postcard and digital ads mirror common co-op principles (affordable, democratic, independent, caring) with a contemporary design. Edit the words and add your logo, then download and use these free resources in October (and beyond).

We’re using this design internally, too. All Pioneer staff will receive a comfy t-shirt, highlighting our co-op’s purpose. Want one? We’ll have a few shirts to give away at conferences this fall, and we’re giving a shirt to each of our Content in the Wild contest winners (send us your selfie today!).
More Resources
While we love celebrating cooperation with a free batch of content every month, there are other great resources in the wider co-op community. Here are a few; add your go-to co-op resources, too!
Co-ops Build Economic Power: Each year all types of co-ops (credit unions, food, housing, electric and more) create a free set of marketing tools to spread co-op love. The 2022 theme, Co-ops Build Economic Power, will provide social graphics, a logo and fun facts about cooperatives. The website is maintained by the National Cooperative Business Association. Common community hashtags are #GoCoop and #CoopNation.
Build Your Peer Co-op Network: Curious about other types of cooperatives? We love learning with the Cooperative Communicators Association! From sharing co-op principle education tactics with the Land O’Lakes crew to seeing how credit unions and marketing co-ops increase member engagement, this group of co-op communicators loves sharing ideas and inspiration. Pioneer’s a proud member of CCA. You might want to add it to your budget, too.
Co-op Month Support for Electric Co-ops: Every fall NRECA, the national association for electric co-ops, delivers a leadership column and social media graphics to help members celebrate National Co-op Month. The content, available only to NRECA members, can be found in the Straight Talk resource center.
From our co-op to yours, Happy National Co-op Month!
