On top of their primary website, Columbia REA launched a separate subsite for their broadband subsidiary, Columbia iConnect. The subsidiary provides voice, fiber, satellite and wireless internet services.
Five Design Highlights
1. Showcase Data
Columbia REA’s primary site uses a data visualization banner on its homepage, as well as a SmartHub login integration. A big opt-in was visualization on key pages, including:
- By the Numbers: The home page features a tally of members, meters and miles of line served.
- Outage Center: Steps for reporting an outage are clearly listed in the outage center with strong, mobile-responsive graphics.
2. Relay Rates
A new rate plan app developed by the Powerful Web team for broadband providers gives Columbia iConnect’s team members the ability to add and manage the rate plan offerings in the back-end interface of their website.
3. Share News
The co-op opted to repurpose monthly Ruralite magazine articles onto their homepage and in a co-op news section. Articles are added automatically each month, keeping website content fresh.
4. Worry-Free Updates
Columbia REA added virtual webmaster services. For a low monthly cost, website edits are made by Pioneer’s team.
5. Social Support
At the same time the websites were updated, Pioneer launched Columbia REA’s social media support through Pioneer Social.
