Ruralite Services has been helping public power utilities inform and celebrate rural and suburban residents for more than 60 years. To remain relevant for 60 more years we’re stepping up our efforts to understand how our communities are evolving and how to keep residents engaged with their utilities and their towns.
The importance of self-sufficiency, pride in one’s community, focus on innovation, power of voice, and connection with the environment are all issues that are interwoven into the fabric of the places we serve. Join us at Ruralite Services’ Annual Meeting on Friday, May 4, at 10:30 am as we discuss how we can best explore the future together.
Our guest speaker will be Steve Moore, Executive Director and CEO of the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. Steve is a widely published author and speaker and has served in several leadership roles in numerous community and professional organizations. Like RSI, the Murdock Trust also has a focus on serving rural communities, particularly in the Pacific Northwest. The trust’s motto, “Partnering with those who serve the common good”, beautifully compliments the mission of public utilities.
- Learn how smaller communities are earning a louder voice in the region and nation
- Reconnect with Ruralite Services staff, including new members of our editorial and Efficiency Services Group teams
- Network with utility leaders and communicators from across our service territory
- Learn about your cooperative’s new and emerging services and financial position
The 2018 Annual Meeting will take place at the Embassy Suites Portland Airport Hotel (7900 NE 82nd Ave, Portland, OR 97220). Free parking and shuttles are available. Although the venue is easily accessible from the airport, plan to take a little extra time when traveling via the freeways. Portland traffic is getting busier by the day.
Please let us know if we can hold a place for you at our meeting (lunch provided) by emailing one of those new team members, Marketing and Communications Specialist, Colin Lake.
I look forward to seeing you May 4!
